Canelas brings together the future and present of Portuguese skating at the National Club Championship

ODYTA Summary

Portuguese speed skating demonstrated again this weekend that behind major international results there is a base of clubs that works, competes, and continues to grow the sport. On September 26 and 27, the Armando Silva Rodrigues Skating Rink, located in the Arsenal de Canelas Sports Complex, hosted the first day of the 2026 National Club Championship of Speed Skating. The competition, organized by the Portuguese Skating Federation together with the Aveiro Skating Association and Arsenal de Canelas, brought together athletes from the Under-15 and Senior categories, both male and female. The event featured 178 skaters from 16 clubs over two days of competition, all sharing the same passion for speed.
